Thank you to all of you who have taken the trouble to check this blog from time to time, and an apology for my tardiness. Nevertheless I have returned.
It is likely to be a staccato start as I am taking a three week holiday at the end of the month in order to celebrate my 60th birthday. I also anticipate changing my computer and broadband provider. Yet in the face of such overwhelming clamour from my readers what else could I do?
My first task as been to struggle with the blog controls and remove all of the streamlining and visual chrome designed to make the blog eye catching and happening. It took some effort but I am now proud to observe that it has all the style of a 1950s copy of the Times and is just as reader friendly.
It has been an eventful few months since I last posted. Classic Wargaming has gone, Battlegames has gone and come back again and some stuff has happened to countries around the Mediterranean.
I have to say that what I have been painting this month has hardly been exciting. 20mm civilian figures to be exact, I need a couple of hundred for my Spanish Civil War games this year. I had about 40 metal figures from various manufacturers but the gap is being filled up with the old Airfix Platform Figures and Railway Workers sets now marketed by Dapol. Apart from the shock of finding that a two bob kit is now £6.00, I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of these forty year old little figures. I strongly suspect that they were sculpted by Charles Stadden
So finally, a very happy New Year to you all. Celebrate well and play it safe, just like the chap above.
The blog layout is very nice, elegant even.
If only more folks would follow your lead...
You're back! Happy New Year and I like the "elegant new man about town" look. Like the civilians (from a better age when people wore proper hats AND the right way round).
Welcome back! I suspect plenty of us were beginning to wonder... And, yes, the new layout is jolly good. Keep blogging!
Splendid to have you back. So which one is you in the picture up top?
Great to see you back, John. The new look for the blog is pleasing and easy on the eyes. Enjoy your trip and upcoming birthday.
Good to have you back in our midst. The photo of the cavalry chaps is excellent.A Happy Birthday when it comes and a superb three weeks off!
Welcome back from your sabbatical, sir. I look forward to reading more of your posts.
Welcome back, the layout looks fine, I'm sticking with my leery 'Panzer Farb' but I did drop the Adsence to speed-up page loading (after a summer of logging-on with public PC's, dial-ups and dongles myself!), and given that 12 dollars a year can hardly be considered a 'revenue stream'!!
Nice civi's but looking forward to more Erickson's
Welcome back... good start to the year! :o)
Wonderful. I like the new look, I may even steal it.
Who made the last chap? He looks ready for anything.
